ABSTRACT
Storage structures are significantly different from many other structural forms, and are subject to the full design load many times during their existence. There is a strong linkage between their working conditions and their structural safety. This has for a long time presented both designers and standards drafting committees with challenges; the rate of failures of silos has been higher than for other types of structures.
