ABSTRACT

LI Measurements with Falling Weight Deflectometer tearing capacity has been measured by falling weight deflectometer (FWD) before the naintenance operation and every autumn thereafter 1987-1994, except for the year 992. The purpose of FWD is to simulate a passage of a loaded lorry on a selected spot nd to register the deflection caused by the passage. This is accomplished by a falling weight hitting a steel plate with the diameter of 300 mm on the road surface. The >ower used is most often 5 tons to simulate the load from a lorry with 10 tons axle □ad. The falling weight causes a deflection in the road surface which is measured with ;eophones. In this case the deflections were measured in the deflection centre (DO), nd 200 mm (D20), 450 mm (D45) and 900 mm (D90) from the deflection centre.
