ABSTRACT
Abstract In Japan, polymer mortar and concrete already became the dominant construction materials in 1970s. Binders for the polymer mortar and concrete are chiefly epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin and acrylic resin (methacrylate-based resin). The polymer mortar is widely used for finish, repair or chemical-resistant lining works, and the polymer concrete is generally employed for precast products. This review deals with the recent progress in the research and development of the polymer mortar and concrete, and their recent applications in Japan.
