ABSTRACT

Abstract This paper presents the test results and design rules for arch frameless shells consisted of cold-formed steel sections in building roofs under vertical distributed or concentrated loads. Six test specimens were represented by full-scale arch fragments of single or three-layer shells of span 15, 18 and 21 m made of rolled zinc-coated steel of thickness 0,8 or 1,0 mm. Deflection diagrams of specimens under load were recorded using analytical photogrametry. Computations of displacements and design rules for these structures were performed using test results. Keywords: Frameless arch, steel, roof.
