It is possible to identify three main "typical" behaviours according to the strain amplitude and the number of loadings applied to bituminous mixtures [di Benedetto, RDJEM90](Fig.5.1).

• For a small number of loadings and strains of a few percent, the observed behaviour is highly non-linear.
