ABSTRACT
As land cost continue to escalate into the early 21st Century in the world's Central Business Districts, particularly in Asia, 150, 200, and even 500 story multi-use building complexes may become common place. Without a quantum leap in motive lift technology, such as developing the ability to block and mitigate gravity, inventing practical ACV3F linear induction elevator drives (sans hoist ropes and counterweights), or self propelled "lifting pods" that can move in and out of dedicated vertical hoistways, we may be stuck with the conventional traction elevator for some time to come.
