ABSTRACT

People spend a great deal of their time at the workplace. Therefore the work and the working condition has significant effects on the people’s health, satisfaction and perception of stress. The literature of occupational stress show that physical fatigue resulting from poor physical working condition tend to lead to mental fatigue, which can cause stress. Further, it is demonstrated that several aspects of work and work organisation such as lack of individual control over the way work is performed, dissatisfaction with organizational climate and bad interpersonal relationship can contribute to dissatisfaction and feeling of stress, Westlander et al (1995).
