ABSTRACT
The general theorems relating to stratified multi-stage sampling will be considered in this chapter; subsequent chapters will deal with different types and aspects of stratified multi-stage sampling: simple random sample; varying probability sample; size of sample and allocation to different strata and stages; and self-weighting designs.
