ABSTRACT
Since the dawn of the industrial revolution, we have witnessed remarkable expres sion of ingenuity in creations ranging from steam engines to sewing machines, airplanes, robots, information highways and many more. The presentation focuses on achievements in space technology from Sputnik to the proposed International Space Station and the on board mobile robotic manipulator system. These crea tions are often considered to be endowed with “artificial intelligence.”
