Evolutionary computation (EC) represents a powerful search and op timization paradigm. The metaphor underlying EC is a biological one: that of natural selection and genetics.
There are a variety of classes of evolutionary computational models that have been proposed and studied. These models are usually re ferred to as evolutionary algorithms.
