ABSTRACT

Prothorax variable in form, moderately to strongly convex, usually wider than long, side margins nearly parallel to rounded, hind angles moderately to widely expanded, lateral margins rarely possessing glands or possible mycangia; prosternal process variable, absent, moderate or well-developed onto mesosternum; procoxal cavities opened, procoxae globular or cylindrical, prominent, generally contiguous. Mesosternum variable in form, discal region with wide or narrow median carina or elaborate mesosternal process; mesocoxae oval to subcylindrical, contiguous to moderately separated. Metasternum usually lacking modifications, occasionally possessing metasternal lines originating from mesocoxae or pleural region of sternum; metacoxae nearly contiguous to widely separated; hind femoral plates well-developed, posterior margin straight

or concave. Metendosternite variable in form, depending on proximity of metacoxae. Tarsal formula 3-3-3, basal segment reduced, rarely modified, segment II vestigial, segment III long, slender, rarely modified; tarsal claws simple, equal or subequal in length; tarsal empodium with 1 or 2 setae. Mesoscutellum triangular, with or without sulci; metascutellum variable, short and broad to long and narrow.
