ABSTRACT

The herbicide atrazine (Ahrens 1994) has been used widely in the U.S. since the 1960s for selective control of broadleaf and grass weeds in corn {Zea mays L.) and sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench], It is economical and very effective when applied to fields under a wide range of tillage practices. Unlike most herbicides, atrazine has wide application flexibility; it can be applied early preplant, preplant incorporated, preemergence, or postemergence.
