CALCULATING WEIR CIRCUMFERENCE In some calculations of weir overflow rate, you will have to calculate the total weir length, given the weir diameter. To calculate the length of weir around a circular clarifier, you need to know the relationship between the diameter and circumference of a circle. The distance around any circle (circumference) is about three times the distance across that circle (diameter). Or more precisely, the circurnfemce is 3.14 times the diameter. * Therefore, when you know the weir diameter, you can calculate the total feet of weir:
