ABSTRACT
Preamble This chapter starts off from when a PC is first turned on, and I have assumed only a basic familiarity with computer principles. The focus is on the architecture of the CPU, that is, how the processor itself works. Chapter 2 takes the next step by introducing the instruction set, the machine instructions that the processor understands.
