ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we focus our attention on identifying the best physical concept for the product. Recall that the physical concept is the embodiment of the working principle or solution concept employed to provide the desired functionality of the product. Product characteristics established by the physical concept include the main functions and workings of the product, the features which make it desirable to own and use, the styling that makes it aesthetically pleasing, and the attributes that make it reliable, durable, serviceable, and efficient to operate or use.
