ABSTRACT
Pectin and hemicellulose molecules when compared to cellulose have have relatively short linear chains, which are branched, and together with water they form the matrix of the growing wall composite. This matrix material is packed into the wall from vesicles by fusion with the plama membrane; nevertheless, orientation of these polysac charide molecules does occur within the wall (2; see Chap. 2) .
