ABSTRACT
Heater-treaters, used to make the final separation of water from oil at lease sites, should be designed on the basis of lab analysis of the produced fluid. However, such data are rarely available, and this article provides a general design procedure that can supplement or, to some extent, replace the more rigorously scientific approach.
