ABSTRACT

Example 5.3.1 Brownlee (1953, p. 117) reports the results of an industrial experiment carried out to deterrrune whether a batch of material is homogeneous. The experiment is conducted by sampling material contruned in six different vats . The material was wrung in a centrifuge and bagged. Two bags were selected at random from each vat and then two samples were taken from each bag. Finally, two independent measurements were made on each sample for the percentage of a particular ingredient. The ANOV A table for the data is shown in Table 5.3.3.
