Example 6.3.1 Consider the reliability study described in Table 6.3.1 with I= 6 subjects and J = 4 judges. The covariance between the ratings of two randomly selected judges on a random subject is <r~ . Using the ANOVA in Table 6.3.3 a 95% confidence interval on <r~ is [2.06; 36.5]. This interval is computed using (6.2.2) with S~ = 1.23 replacing S~ and np = 15 replacing n3 in the equation. Also needed for the computations are G1 = .6104, Gp = .4543, H 1 = 5.015, Hp = 1.395, G 1p = -.021, and H 1p = -.657.
