ABSTRACT
In ion-exclusion chromatography hydrophilic molecular and ionic species are separated by using an ion-exchange resin column. Many authors have discussed the principles of this separation mode (I , l 0, 13, 15). It is generally considered that the retention of the solute may not solely be governed by ionexclusion effect, but this retention mechanism must be included if any ionic species is present in the sample.
