ABSTRACT
The spectral analysis of materials involving infrared (IR) techniques concerns IRradiation broadly positioned, in between the visible and the microwave region of the electromagnetic (EM) spectrum. An organic chemist is interested in the region limited to the portion between 4000 cm-1 and 666 cm-1 (mid-IR) inspite of considerable interest in the near infrared region (14290-4000 cm-1) and the far infrared region (700-200 cm-1).
