ABSTRACT
Several environmental factors are involved in the temporary widespread increase in fungal and bacterial diseases (i.e., epidemic). The life of a fungal pathogen may be divided into sporulation, dispersal (removal, transport, and deposition), germination, infection, and incubation phases. Environmental factors involved in all phases of the fungal life cycle are discussed. Environmental factors affecting bacterial spread and infection are also described.
