ABSTRACT

Physiological Role o f Neuromediators in Plants Cellular recognition systems in plants have analogs in animal organisms, where they deal with information transfer between cells in synapses in the form of chemical signals such as transmitters or mediators. In plant excretions, nitrogen-containing compounds that function as neurotransmitters in neural and muscle tissues are also found. Among them are cholinic ester acetylcholine and biogenic amines dopamine, noradrenaline, serotonin, and histamine (see section 3.1), which partici pate in intercellular chemical signaling in animals.
