ABSTRACT

Limnonectes, Phrynobatrachus, Ptychadena, R. clamitans, R. dalmatina, R. japonica, R. pretiosa, R. rugosa, and R. temporaria caps the anterior tip of the nucleus, extending posteriorly for a short distance around the nucleus. The vesicle of R. dalmatina differs further in extending anteriorly beyond the apical limit of the nucleus. The acrosome vesicle is symmetrically attached to the nucleus, or almost so, in all ranids examined except in Ptychadena mascareniensis, R. clamitans, R. dalmatina, and R. temporaria where it is distinctly asymmetrical.
