ABSTRACT

Two different types of mucous glands, possibly involved in transport of tadpoles, have been also reported in males of Minyobates virolinensis (De Perez et a l 1992a). These glands differ in the height of their epithelium, amount of secretory product and some ultrastructural details. Nonetheless, according to the above authors both gland types lack a myoepithelial sheath, which suggests a continuous secretion release.
