ABSTRACT
Rhizome erect, short, scaly; scales basally attached. Fronds dimorphic. Sterile lamina 1-2-pinnate, deltate, ultimate lobes broadly expanded, texture herbaceous. Fertile lamina finely dissected, ultimate lobes elongated, narrow. Venation reticulate, without free endings. Sori exindusiate. Sporangia seriate along the veins, large, occupying the entire surface, protected by the recurved lamina margins. Annulus of 30-70 indurated cells. Spores tetrahedral, large, exine with ribbed surface. Type genus Ceratopteris Brongn.
