ABSTRACT

This often quoted, and more often, paraphrased, commentary on value has particular relevance to anyone involved in telecommunications. Service providers struggle to lower their end user prices to meet competition, and users often become obsessed with finding the absolute rock bottom price for whatever serv­ ice or product they need. It is true that there are applications that do not have a compelling need for superior quality, but the trick is to match the price points necessary to be competitive to reach the level o f quality that is needed.
