Figure 7.2 gives, for n < 30, the norms of the interpolation operators ||An || for the maximum determinant and eigenvalue points, plus the norms \\Ln\\ for the hyperinterpolation with the Gauss-Legendre and Clenshaw-Curtis tensor product rules. Even for these small values of n, the difference in the growth of the interpolation and hyperinterpolation norms is apparent. For the eigenvalue points, the interpolation norm is approximately n + 1. The growth of the interpolation norm for the maximum determinant points is larger, but much less than the bound ||An || < dn = (n + l ) 2.
