ABSTRACT

Cool storage is an exciting "new" technology first applied more than a half-century ago. Until recent years, however, widespread interest in the concept waned because of the increased efficiency and reliability of conventional cooling systems, and the decreasing cost of electricity. Today's energy situation is such that cool storage has re-emerged as the most advanced, cost-effective space cooling technology of all, particularly due to utility-established customer incentives. These incentives have been created to help utilities operate in a more costeffective manner.
