ABSTRACT
Despite the tight control of routine emissions, there remains the possibility of radiation release following an accident. Depending on the quantities of material released, wind, weather and population distribution, certain accidents could lead to radiation doses to some groups exceeding the ICRP limits. This possibility is discussed in section 6.
