ABSTRACT
As we saw in Chapter 2, the sequence of polynomials generated by the inverse function /-1 is closely related to the sequence generated by f. In this chapter we discuss the sequence {.Xn(x)}~=O• the primary sequence of elliptic polynomials of the second kind, related to {c5n(x)}~=O in this way. (Here we use the notation An(x) instead of Bn(x).) Some of the results we obtain here are used in Chapter 14. The final topic of the chapter is an investigation into the zeros of An(x), where it is shown that they are real and distinct, except for the double zero x = 0 of A2n(x), n ~ 1.
