ABSTRACT

Ravenhead Renaissance is the public and private sector Consortium land owning interest in St Helens Lancashire which has provided the framework for a co-ordinated range of developments across some 250 acres of land to the south of the town centre. The majority of the sites are derelict. The following paper details how Ravenhead Renaissance has established itself as a role model for urban regeneration. The projects which are detailed in the paper are ongoing and provide a very useful illustration of how derelict land can be brought back into economic use through co-ordinated effort.
