ABSTRACT
The paper examines the application of stress calculation equations developed as part of extensive international research on the nodes of offshore jacket structures to the analysis of stresses due to local loads applied to cylindrical pressure vessels. These loads may be applied via a variety of attachments such as branch pipes, leg supports or lifting lugs.
