ABSTRACT

In the general 3D case the diffusion process in the absence of sources and sinks is described by Eqs.(5.1)

(6.1)

We shall consider in this Chapter the evolution of inhomogeneities of the uniform background plasma with constant uniform temperatures Tt l=const. The magnetic field is parallel to the z axis. The boundary conditions for Eqs. (6.1) are

(6.2)

To focus on the main physical effects we shall study pure, weakly ionized and strongly magnetized (x«X/»l) plasma. These assumptions makes the final results more compact since it is possible to use the Einstein relations. However, the main results of this Chapter can easily be generalized to the case of partially ionized plasma provided D^f»Dt y, DLL» D e±.
