ABSTRACT
DEST was developed in an attempt to establish a generic methodology for the preliminary design support of a structure which is produced to order or in small quantities. The design procedures for these kinds of structure are repeated individually from structure to structure and there are, therefore, more trials and errors in decision-making. Thus, the burden on the design engineer is very heavy.
