ABSTRACT
The availability, selectivity, quality and robustness of commercial gas sensors have improved dramatically, facilitating current research and developments in fire detection. Gas sensing methods have many advantages to offer, especially in specific and relatively contained environments. A suite of gas detectors can be selected and tailored to detect specific vapours of interest such as chemicals emitted from overheating electrics.
