ABSTRACT

Finally, for silica-surface deactivation, a protein (a-lactalbumin) was attached [53] in the presence of a glutaraldehyde solution to a capillary tubing silylated with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. With the formation of a reticulated protein layer, the interaction of proteins with the surface is decreased. Some test proteins were separated with relatively sharp peaks at pH 7. The EOF increases with increasing pH. Because of the amphoteric character of the bonded protein, the direction of the EOF is changed at pH 4.1.
