ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a brief discussion of the separation mechanisms in capillary electrophoresis, a description of CE instrumentation, and some guidelines in selecting conditions for a CE separation. Readers interested in more detailed presentations of CE theory and practice may consult Refs. 1-8. Several general reviews of capillary electrophoresis have been published [9-11] as well as specific reviews of application of CE to protein analysis [12-15,16].
