ABSTRACT
I. INTRODUCTION In this chapter we discuss the installation and maintenance of the various types of couplings available on the market. Most coupling manufacturers provide information and recommendations relevant to the installation, maintenance, and lubrication of their couplings. If this information is not included with a coupling, the coupling manufacturer should be contacted before installation is begun. A good maintenance department has a file where this information is kept for reference.
