ABSTRACT
SEWERS and drains are tested after laying to ensure that they are sound, i.e. that no damaged pipes have been laid and that the joints are satisfactory. If the construction of the sewers complies with BS codes of practice and the Building Regulations, the pipes themselves (and the joints where applicable) will be to a BS or equivalent specification, and will normally have been tested before leaving the manufacturer's works.
