ABSTRACT

In many plant rearrangements, a professional architect is employed to design a plan to achieve desired objectives. When this is the case, it is highly advantageous to have the plant engineer and the maintenance manager work with the architect to help assure that the best possible arrangement is realized. The more the regular employees are involved in the rearrangement and construction, the more likely there will be complete satisfaction. It is the employees who have an in-depth knowledge of both the electrical and mechanical systems that will be altered. Also, these are the employees who will be responsible for maintenance of the plant and facilities after the work is completed. When they participate in both the planning and the renovation and construction phases, favorable results will inevitably occur.
