ABSTRACT

As a word of caution, to draw a simplified outline for permitting a new mining project is a nearly impossible task. Each new site must be treated on an ad hoc, sitespecific basis because of numerous variables from site to site. There is no “one size fits all” guideline formula. A new mining project permitting program may range from simple, small, short time, and straightforward to intensely complex, involving many agencies and authorities, and taking years to accomplish.
