ABSTRACT
Fresh, clean drinking water is one of the basic, raw materials that man draws from the Earth, one that he cannot exist without. Man consumes about 3 to 4 lb. of water daily. Fortunately, water is a replenishable raw material, but its reserves are easily polluted and its contaminations must be guarded against.
