ABSTRACT

The injection molding cycle is usually expressed as the time (in seconds or minutes) that is required by the injection molding machine to produce a plastic part or parts from one filling of the mold. The cycle must include the time required to close and clamp the mold, inject the molten plastic into the mold and apply holding pressure, cool the plastic part, open the mold and eject the part. The mold again closes, signaling the start of a new molding cycle.
