ABSTRACT
As has been stated numerous times throughout this book, the most important single factor impacting project success is the project man ager. Benchmarkers confirm that the project manager is the hub around which all project organization activities revolve. This single individual is responsible for between 35 and 75% of the project’s suc cess. The project manager is the person who maximizes the team’s performance. They are the organizational representative who can be sent to remote locations and depended upon to capitalize on controlla ble events and mitigate the uncontrollable. When projects are in trou ble a first step in resolving the problem is to send in a superior project manager.
