ABSTRACT
In order to analyze plate structures, which are continuous over a number of flexible beams and columns or stiffened by many longitudinal and transverse beams, a compound strip method has been developed by Puckett and Gutkowski (1983). This method incorporates the effects of the support elements in a direct stiffness methodology so that the solution procedure becomes more straightforward than the flexibility approach.
