ABSTRACT

Water has always been used as a cleaning medium but, until recently, the major reason for this has been because of its properties as a solvent and lubricant. Within the past 20 years the use of water at high pressure as a cleaning agent has become extensive throughout the world. While the range of applications has covered a wide variety of fields, one demonstration of the benefits from the use of high pressure waterjets for cleaning can be taken from the chemical industry.
