ABSTRACT

Abstract Carbonation of cementitious compounds leads to important microstructural changes. The modification of the microstructure was measured on hydrated cement paste (hcp) by mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) and water vapour sorption. This latter technique allowed us to calculated the pore-size distribution of meso-and micro-pores, as well as the BET specific surface area. The total porosity was determined after water absorption under vacuum.
