ABSTRACT
The process of corrosion demands the penetration of ions within the microstructure of concrete and simultaneously, in the case of chlorides, the transport of ions in the opposite direction from the leached hydrated cement phases. In this situation, the porosity and permeability of concrete will play a decisive role.
