ABSTRACT
Chapter 5 provided details of interpretation of CPT and CPTU results in terms of soil parameters which can then be used as input parameters in analysis. An alternative approach is to apply the in situ test results directly to an engineering problem. A typical example of this approach is the evaluation of pile capacity directly from CPT results without the need for soil parameters.
